International Project Management Day

Today is International Project Management Day – happy celebrations to everyone but I suspect a large majority of project people will be heads down and getting on with delivery today. Prehaps you could buy a cake for your team or a round of drinks on you. I would love to be a fly on the wall when you tell your team its a day for celebrating the all round brilliancies of project managers In the UK today, the PMI celebrate International Project Management Day with their one day conference – PMI Synergy. If you weren’t able to make it there today there will be plenty of tweets via Twitter so you can keep up to date with what’s going on – just following the hashtag  #PMIUKSynergy or follow me @projectmgmt This year’s celebrations have the theme – The Power of the Profession and there are a number of events happening around the world – check out the International Project Management Day website There’s also a virtual celebration happening over at IIL too – a free event that they hope will attract 50,000 PMs online, find out more at: The Power of the Profession   The Power of the Profession No Related Posts Read More »

Project Management Tweet Round Up

Today, I’d like to highlight some recent, great tweets (plus one I did) from the leading personalities on the #PMOT hashtag. In addition to being top personalities on the premier Twitter hashtag for project management, these people write from a position of authority, expertise and unrivalled experience. They speak well of things that need to be said about project management and its many layers and elements these days. It’s what makes having Twitter around such a good thing for project managers, as well as a good showcase of just how Twitter democratises the wheat accounts from the chaff accounts. Hope there’s things in here that’ll prove beneficial to you as well. You have studied the PMBOK® Guide and numerous additional materials; you believe you have a solid understanding of project management theories and the application of those theories; and you have taken the steps to schedule your PMP Exam, there is just one lingering question…how can you make sure you are able to identify the best answers when it comes time to take the PMP Exam ? The PMP Exam consists of 200 multiple choice questions that need to be answered in four hours. For each question you are provided a scenario along with four answers to choose from. Your job is to choose the correct answer, which can be difficult when more than one answer may look correct. One thing to remember that no matter your personal experiences or even other project management training, the PMBOK® Guide is the basis for answering PMP Exam Questions . Remember the exams you sweated out as a kid?
