It’s hard to believe I know! We’re now in the ninth year of producing the Project Management Benchmark Report – that’s nine years of looking at the project management industry in the UK and asking those people who matter the most – yes, you the practitioner, what you think of it all. Alongside all the usual salary level stuff and finding out how happy or disgruntled people are – each year we look at a few different areas of the industry. Last year it was PMO and if such a thing as “generations” have an impact on a project practitioner. This year we’ve gone more career focused – hence the theme, “ year of your career “. And what a brilliant insight that has given us – bottom line is, as a group of professional managers, we’ve got much work to do if we think (a) project management has a clear career path in which to progress along (or up) and (2) if any of us actually have a clue about how well we do the job. OK, perhaps I make those points just a little too informally and with a tongue-in-cheek, so for the more formally minded readers of the blog, here’s the official launch: The Official Launch Arras People, the project management recruitment specialists release the latest annual report on the UK’s Programme and Project Management Professionals.
