Latest research is out from ESI in relation to the business analysis community. Following on from the project management trends , the top business analysis trends for 2014 are an interesting listen/read. The ones that caught my eye included, the role of the BA and PM will continue to overlap in small to medium-size organisations. This is something we’ve definitely seen increasing over the last few years and in the ESI report this will continue to increase as SME tend to suffer from scarcity in resources available more than larger organisations. The positive side to this is the Just Do It Project Managers that combine the skills of gathering and delivering are adding many more strings to their bows. The other trend that caught my attention was, more and more, project sponsors will learn about BA. Not only will they learn about BA, they are also more likely to pursue formal training in Business Analysis.
