Most weeks we like to hold back the number of blog posts here at the Camel, but this recent revelation couldn’t wait. We have recently received at Arras People the latest monthly edition of the UK Report on Jobs . The report is a monthly publication produced by Markit and sponsored by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation and KPMG. It takes data from Recruitment Consultancies across the UK (including Arras People) to provide a snapshot of the market conditions for the previous month across the market as a whole. It is safe to say that at a very broad level, at present, there still remains a great deal of uncertainty within the jobs market, borne out by the fact that in July staff appointments fell, albeit at a slower pace than previous months. Something we have to bear in mind, however, is that we are currently in the middle of the notoriously quiet summer period for recruitment. Key stakeholders including hiring managers and potential candidates are going away for their summer holidays and / or are concerned more with taking a well-earned break as opposed to finding that next opportunity.
