Q&A Project Management Careers: Networking for Opportunities

I’ve been a longtime freelance project manager, but I’ve always had difficulty networking to help land new opportunities. Any advice? All freelance project practitioners should network at least once a week, even if they’re currently working. This helps develop a pipeline of opportunity, rather than the “feast to famine” many freelancers experience. To find more opportunities, first classify those in your network as friends or professional associates. If you’re not already in contact with the latter, it’s time to re-engage and make yourself visible—send an email, text or call.
