Why I Wrote the Project Management Guide for Information Technology

As a utilitarian, my mindset around work and objects that have intrinsic value tend to look at the functional pieces to gauge value at the expense of aesthetic or social value. That was and is my philosophy behind the Project Management Guide for Information Technology. I’ve read a number of project management books, and reading them cover to cover always felt like such an accomplishment due to their lengthiness. Maybe as project managers, we tend to be a bit verbose or drawn out in our communication. Whatever the cause, I wanted to go in the opposite direction; though I hope not too far…What I put inside the project management guide is only the information needed, but included the hierarchy of how project management processes work and fit together. My desire is for this book to lend clarity to areas where there may not have been much already to the beginner or person who finds project management logic and processes confusing or unclear. Having said all that, I’ll probably be adding more to the book itself very soon.
